Camped here to get away from Hurricane Nate. The park itself is pretty, the beach is nice and clean. That's the only nice I have to say about it. The gate attendant was beyond rude and the bathroom and showers at our loop were filthy. I guess they cater to the lakeside campsites. Won't be back!
It's not a bad Campground but there is nothing special about it. The splash pad area for the children is a little expensive for a day pass and it is not very big at all. The Beach area is not a beach it is gravel with a clay bottom in the swimming area. Most of the walking paths are overgrown not to the point you can't walk down them just not kept up very well. The bathhouses are nothing special either they work and had hot water but are very old and could use a little fixing up.
Cabins were nice but you can't have a fire pit outside and there no fireplace. The gate attendant was rude and unhelpful. The lake is beautiful but the trail was lacking.
Never have I seen a more beautiful place on the water. Peaceful, quiet and a great place for camping with the family. Also has a restaurant across from entrance to the Lake. Awesome BBQ
Nice plce to camp or have a picnic or walk dog
